ONLF Strongly Condemns the Abduct of Aid workers in the Ogaden
The Ogaden National Liberation Front’s strongly condemns the cowardly act of abducting the staff of Medecins du Monde at Laaso-caano near shilaabo district. Such acts are intended to further exacerbate the suffering of the Ogaden Somali people who are already under the throes of a full-fledged famine and a combined Ethiopian government economic and humanitarian blockade.
ONLF believes that this group has carried out this villainous act in order to stop the international community’s efforts in alleviating effects of the combined famine and humanitarian blockade by Ethiopia. Therefore these heartless criminals are wilfully or unwittingly fulfilling the Ethiopian government agenda in the Ogaden.
ONLF will do its outmost to free the humanitarian workers and will not rest until the culprits are dealt with in an appropriate manner.
